This is ones introduction, to ones blog. Think of this as the like 60 second intro before the singers album begins ....
So let's get one thing straight before I start wasting your time, I'm a talker not a writer. verbalising is so much more easier than writing. The laws of writing are too much for me to handle(okay I'm being a bit dramatic there... I can handle it), all that punctuation, (and those words which sound the same but are spelt differently and all have different meanings) like what even is that. Anyway my writing style is very much laid back and may not be the most law abiding when it comes to what you're supposed to do when you're writing (if that makes sense). anyway lets get started on this bloody blog...
As part of my university course I am forced to write a blog as part of a new media assignment, although interesting it means I now have to spend time finding my personality and create posts which are somewhat interesting to an audience even if they aren't read. Just so it's clear and we are all on the same page I'm dyslexic, and sometimes it's hard for me to but pen to paper and write whats in my head on a page so y'all just gonna need to bare with.
Anyway lets talk about the picture at the top, taken by a great friend of mine actually (I'll tag her at the bottom) we were on a film set, 'Sneeze' it was really cool actually to work on. Most of the crew were all friends previously so it made it very easy to work on and means we don't have that awkward 'first time working with each other phase'. The short film has turned out great and I'm lucky to have been allowed to be 1st AD (assistant director). My job was to keep the day moving and making sure we were as close to the schedule as possible and to make sure that any problems that rose on the day were smoothed over as quick as possible.
I definitely thrive being the head of a team, like everyone I make mistakes, but it's how you recover from the mistakes you make and how you learn so that you don't make the same mistakes again (I'm spitting pure wisdom today, I'm proud of me). Managing people is definetly something I can see being a big part of my career, it's not about bossing people around, its about getting a group of people to see the same vision and getting them to believe and work towards that vision whether it's my own or someone else's . I think thats why being a 1st AD is so cool, because I get people motivated to follow a vision and we end up making something awesome just like 'Sneeze'. When I can I will certainly leave a link to the film right here but for now it is in post production.
But.... for now I have been allowed to share this awesome trailer .... enjoy!
